Tribute to Japan
Well, it doesn't show up as well in the photograph as it does in person, but that's the general idea of it. It is half acrylic paint (the sun, the sky, and the tree) and the rest is colored pencil. It's pretty small, about the size of a postcard, maybe a little bigger.

Christmas present for our friends
Ever since we arrived in Perigueux, we have definitely been treated like family. In fact, so much so that one family invited us to spend Christmas with them. Not only are we going to eat with them on Christmas Eve, but we will also be spending the night, waking up early to open presents, and really just feeling like part of the family! We wanted to get them something nice as a gift, but money is tight and most things we could buy didn't seem adequate. I spent most of the day today working on a gift from the heart - a painting of Utah! I know it still isn't much, but I put a lot of work into it and I'm pleased with the result. I hope the family can enjoy it too.
